Where are you from?
I was born and raised in the Bronx, NY, but my family moved to New Jersey so I could attend Don Bosco Prep high school—we’ve been here ever since.
Did you play any sports growing up?
I grew up playing a multitude of sports, everything from rugby to swimming, but the ones that stuck for awhile were football and Equestrian polo.
Is powerlifting the only style of training you’ve done?
No, I’ve been training for over a decade and have had the privilege of training in and learning from a multitude of methods, styles, and practices. After training for sports performance enhancement and using general fitness methods, I did Crossfit for a couple years and then trained in Olympic lifting out of an USA Weightlifting academy. After that, I took some time to focus on powerbuilding styles of training, falling in love with the concurrent approach of training for strength and hypertrophy simultaneously. Shortly after, I started competing in Powerlifting, with my first competition being NJ States in the summer of 2019.
What do you specialize in as a coach?
Despite having trained in an array of styles, I’ve chosen to specifically specialize in strength, hypertrophy, and body transformations. The three most common types of clients I work with are as follows:
1. People who want to transform their body (weight loss, muscle building)
2. People who want to focus on building strength, either casually, for powerlifting, or for a high school/college/professional sport
3. People who are already ahead of the game strength and muscle wise, but are looking to level up their training and begin really honing in on their skills, performance, and mindset.
Do you have any interests aside from lifting?
Hard to imagine that I’d have any non-lifting hobbies I bet. A massive part of my business is content creation! I spend loads of time filming, editing, collaborating, etc. Aside from training, work, and content, I spend a lot of my free time with family. I enjoy the occasional cigar, I watch popular anime and read fantasy books from time to time. I’d like to start diving into motivational speaking and public seminar work, so that’s something I’ve been honing in on as of late. I’m always looking for new opportunities and experiences, so my interests tend to take sharp turns quite often.
Who’s your support system?
I am proud to say I am not self-made. There have been people in my life who’ve absolutely played an enormous role in my ability to grow and progress as a man and an athlete. Being the oldest of four has been one of the best blessings I’ve ever received. At times it can be a lot of responsibility, but truly it is no less than an incredible opportunity; I get to lead the way and prove to my siblings that they’re capable of achieving and becoming far beyond anything they could ever imagine. I’m always given new chances to grow and evolve, and even if it may not feel like it, I’ve always got lil bro’s and a sister to inspire and make proud. God, family, friends—I have a lot of support.
What are your goals in life?
I’ve always been a visionary, so this is something I think about often. In the grand scheme of things, I want to lead a life of character…one that inspires people to become more than they were yesterday. To my core, I believe that every single one of us is powerful beyond measure, that we are each built and designed for greatness. I want to use my actions and accomplishments as a tool to show the world what’s truly possible when you allow yourself to dream big, to commit to your passion, and to work your a** off in pursuit of something greater than yourself.
That said, I want to be a champion and, through my own willingness to persevere, create champions. I’ve always believed that if you’re going to do something, you might as well give it everything you’ve got—and if that’s the case then you might as well aim to be the absolute best! I want to be the best at what I do; I want to exceed current standards. I love entrepreneurship and the art of making something out of nothing, and using that ‘something’ to improve the lives around me. That said, I’d like to break world records and become a champion in my sport. I’d like to own and operate innovative companies that push the limits of possibility while positively impacting the world. And I definitely want to be Marvel’s next Wolverine ;)
